Fenway Park
Boston‘s famous Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox, is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, and as part of the celebration it will host two of the most popular soccer (football) teams in the world: Liverpool Football Club, or Liverpool FC, and Associazione Sportiva Roma, or AS Roma.
As part of a pre-season tour, Liverpool FC (commonly referred to as ‘the Reds’) will come to North America for a 12-day tour; Boston will serve as the team’s training ground. The highly anticipated game between the Reds and Roma is scheduled for Wednesday, July 25 at 6:30pm.
Liverpool FC is one of the world’s oldest football clubs (est. 1892) and has a fiercely loyal fanbase, even in the U.S.; especially after winning seven FA Cups, 18 League Titles, and five European Cups – among others – the team has earned its reputation for being the eighth most valuable football club today.
Seeing Fenway Park, one of the nation’s most beloved ballparks (if not the most beloved), is itself a treat. Any trip to Boston should include a stop at the home of the Red Sox, but adding a live sporting event – and one between two incredible European teams, to boot – is a bonus too good to pass up. Be aware of what part of the stadium you choose (and what you choose to wear); some fans can get very excited!
