Halloween in Boston. Photo credit: Alice via Flickr.
You’ve got to love Halloween. It’s the time of year where everyone puts on silly costumes and heads out to mingle and have a little fun. In Boston, a city that loves to have a good time, the event takes on special meaning.
Boston Harbor usually has some interesting events and a Haunted Ghost Ship Cruise is usually a great time. Ghost Cruises run the harbor year round, but during Halloween, be careful which cruise you choose—you may get a party, you may get some actual ghost story history, but with careful planning, you can get both!
A fun event which is part musical event, part theatre, part culinary adventure is Dining in the Dark New Hampshire House. Located in a towering Beacon Hill Mansion, diners are blindfolded before sitting down to a candlelit dinner and soul-stirring music. The act takes place while dining on your meal and listening to chilling ghost stories.
For a free and fun event in Boston, consider attending the SoWa Market of the Living Dead. Always held on the last Sunday of the month, people come out dressed in costume and wander the market as if perfectly normal. A hoot for the whole family (kids get dressed up too!) the SoWa Market is Boston’s biggest outdoor market and is located in the South End neighborhood. Here’s your chance to see and be seen during the day and grab some of those holiday trinkets and treats that we know and love because Halloween marks the beginning of holiday season!
